1)  What is a graduation ticket?

Many universities have limited guest seating available during graduation ceremonies.  To circumvent this problem, they offer a limited number of tickets to each student graduating (usually 2 - 4) that they can then give to their family members. Tickets usually become available 2-4 weeks before a ceremony, so list and reserve your tickets early!

2)  How does GraduationTickets.com help with this?

GraduationTickets.com brings supply and demand together by having people with extra tickets post them here and people looking for more tickets to browse for tickets available to their ceremony in one convenient place.

3) But aren’t graduation tickets free?  Why are people charging for them?

Yes, the original tickets received are free, but should you want extra tickets your university will likely charge anywhere from $50 - $150 each.  If you wait in line hoping to buy from a scalper, you may pay even more.  By creating a market for competition GraduationTickets.com will help keep prices reasonable.

4)  So how does it work?  How do I buy a ticket?

It’s simple!  If you are looking to buy a ticket, just create a free account, and then search your state and college to see if any are available.   Select the seller you are interested in buying from and your request will be sent to him or her.  They will then log back in and accept your offer at which time you will either be given the option to pay via Paypal, or given the sellers email to set up an alternate means of completing the transaction.  To insure your privacy, we will not give your address to the seller.  You can give them any information you deem necessary once you are in touch.

5)  Ok, so how do I sell a ticket?

Even simpler!  Just create a seller account, provide your college email address, and list your tickets and the price you would like to offer them at.  If someone is interested you will be sent an email informing you, at which time you can accept their offer and present them with a means of payment (Paypal is the easiest way).  When they pay they will give you their address to send the tickets to when they become available.  (Note: Your acceptance is a contract.  Failure to send the promised tickets is fraud and will be reported to your university.)

6)  I can’t pick up my tickets until the day of the graduation.  How do I get them to the buyer in time?

It’s true that some colleges have this policy, but never fear, you still have several options. Most colleges allow you to give a signed note to a friend that wishes to pick up tickets for you.  Just write and sign over a note to the buyer stating that they may pick up your tickets.  Check with your admissions department to see if this is allowed.  As an alternate plan, you could just arrange to meet with the buyer before the ceremony at a specific time and place to hand over the tickets.

6)  I don’t see my university! What do I do?

This likely means that students in your area are not aware of graduationtickets.com service yet.  Just send this site to your friends via the referral link at the bottom, or just tell people about it.  We are a relatively new site and need your help to promote this service and help it grow!  Also, click on the “add your college” link at the bottom of the “Buy Tickets” page and submit your college so that we can add it to our database. You should see it listed in as little as 24 hours.

7)  Does GraduationTickets.com buy or sell tickets directly?  What guarantee do you offer?

Sorry but no and none.  We are a forum for bringing buyers and sellers together and do not offer any tickets for sale ourselves.  Though we have taken several steps to help insure the security of our site, we can not guarantee any transactions on this site and you use it at your own risk.  Please see our disclaimer for additional details regarding this.

8)  I want to advertise on your site.  How do I do this?  Do you want to link share with us?

Easy!  We have great advertising options for you.  Please submit your question to our advertising dept at advertising@graduationtickets.com.

9)  But I don’t have a college email address!  How do I sell my tickets?

Sorry, but to help insure the validity of tickets being offered for sale and to protect our buyers from fraud, we require all seller accounts to have a verifiable college email address.  Nearly all colleges and universities offer student email addresses today.  Simply ask your university’s computer dept about setting one up.

10)  So who are you guys anyways?

Ninjas.

11)  Ninjas?  Are you really ninjas?

Yes.

12)  I have other questions not addressed here.  What now?

Just email us at service@graduationtickets.com and we’ll do what we can to help out!  Thanks!
